Prázdné řádky

Sekce blankLines rozhoduje, kolik prázdných řádků stojí na každém místě, kde na tom záleží: v hlavičce souboru kolem namespace a importů, ve třídě mezi metodami a členy, za otevírací a před zavírací závorkou bloku a kolem příkazů jako return.

Prázdné řádky dělají soubor čitelným na první pohled: hlavička oddělená od kódu, metody od sebe výrazně, vlastnosti a konstanty pohromadě, komentář přilepený k tomu, co popisuje. Každé takové místo má vlastní klíč a hodnotou je počet řádků, rozsah nebo keep, které místo nechá, jak je. Rozsah se hodí tam, kde snesete dvojí zápis: betweenMembers: [0, 1] dovolí psát vlastnosti těsně pod sebe i oddělené jedním řádkem, ale dva už ne. Počet, který do rozsahu nespadá, se posune k nejbližší povolené hodnotě.

Prázdné řádky se počítají nad komentářem, který stojí na vlastních řádcích nad kódem, protože komentář patří k tomu, co je pod ním. Kam se lámou řádky u složených závorek, rozhoduje sekce braces; tahle sekce rozhoduje jen o prázdných řádcích kolem nich.
